The Space & Airborne (SAS) Center within Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) is seeking Technical Writer Engineers. The LCE Technical Writer Engineers is responsible for developing and delivering logistics data, provisioning data, technical data, technical publications, and training system materials for Space and Airborne Systems programs in support of final sell-off to the customer. This position is an onsite role in El Segundo, California.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in science (B.S.) or greater in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and two years of writing experience in a technical field with an emphasis on logistics and technical documentation
Experience interpreting engineering schematics, flow diagrams, and requirements specifications
Background in creating, editing, and maintaining online/web‑based documentation
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

Coordinate Logistics, Provisioning, Technical Publications, and Training System development efforts
Work with Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and other related disciplines to gather and create documentation on complex electronic systems
Support quality assurance efforts, assemble documentation for audits and ensure that documentation is compliant with appropriate regulations
Maintain documentation standards and keep abreast of current information by associating with professional individuals or societies or by reviewing professional publications, newsletters, e-mail, and internet sites
Interpret military specifications and plan compliant deliverable materials
Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
Maintain engineering technical manual databases
Coordinate engineering tag up and meetings between the Program, System Engineering, and Chief Engineer
Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
