About The Position

The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control; Signal Processing; and Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis disciplines for Effectors. The Signal Processing team is seeking a Systems Engineer II ; Data Analytics & Algorithm Development - Missile Systems. As the Systems Engineer II ; Data Analytics & Algorithm Development - Missile Systems , you will be responsible for gathering, transforming and organizing data so it can be effectively and reliably used by multiple program stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for analysis and visualization of large data sets to characterize behavior of a complex system and aid system performance objectives. This is an onsite position located in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Experience with data analysis, data visualization, and/or presentation of data.
  • Experience with signal processing techniques or algorithm development.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and/or modelling (regression, fitting, machine learning).
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret Clearance with prior SAP or SSBI Clearances
  • Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Math.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting analysis to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with SQL and/or relational databases.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Experience writing scripts in a Unix environment (Bash/C Shell scripting).
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language.
  • Ability to interface with adjacent engineering disciplines such as Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Software Engineering; or Systems Engineering;

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, transforming and organizing data so it can be effectively and reliably used by multiple program stakeholders.
  • Analysis and visualization of large data sets to characterize behavior of a complex system and aid system performance objectives.
  • Act as an established and productive professional with theoretical to advanced knowledge of data structures and visualization techniques to support development, execution, and completion of difficult and sometimes complex program objectives.
  • Engage with multiple missile programs to assess performance in accordance with requirements.
  • Support design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to teams within and outside your own discipline.
  • Use and modify simulations and tools for the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models.
