About The Position

Provide professional support for lifecycle design, cross-platform integration, and long-term engineering sustainment of U.S. Navy enterprise software applications and fleet training infrastructure. Align technical architecture with evolving Fleet Training Management (FTM) workflows, ensure interoperability across target environments, and maintain compliance with Department of Defense and Department of the Navy cybersecurity policies. Serve as a bridge between operational requirements and technical implementation to help keep mission-critical fleet training systems robust, scalable, secure, and operational. The role supports system requirements and design, integration and validation, secure data flows, cybersecurity compliance, Tier 3 troubleshooting, engineering analysis, modernization, configuration management, and system documentation. It also involves coordination with functional stakeholders, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and Government customers. The position is remote, although the company reserves the right to require onsite work. Full-time; additional hours may be required as needed to complete an assignment or project. No travel or driving is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related STEM field.
  • Three to five years of proven, hands-on professional systems engineering experience with enterprise-level hardware or software ecosystems.
  • Experience with DoDAF artifacts, SysML/UML, and MBSE tools such as Cameo or Capella.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs, DoD RMF, and ACAS/Tenable findings remediation.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is generally required.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering, requirements analysis, and system design methodologies.

  • Translate operational fleet training requirements into functional and technical system designs.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability across applications, interfaces, data flows, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute lifecycle system integration, verification, and end-to-end validation; maintain configuration baselines across development, staging, and production networks.
  • Architect, monitor, and troubleshoot secure data flows between FTM repositories, external legacy interfaces such as FLTMPS, and fleet readiness dashboards including Tableau, Databricks, and Qlik.
  • Support development and management of Risk Management Framework artifacts, including Security Assessment Plans, Security Control Tracking Matrices (SCTM), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and continuous monitoring control assessments.
  • Diagnose and remediate complex Tier 3 technical failures involving enterprise hardware networks, SAN storage, cluster virtualization layers, cloud platforms, and distributed application software.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to maintain system stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Support upgrades, modernization initiatives, risk mitigation strategies, and configuration management activities.
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective technical solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with functional stakeholders, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and Government customers.
  • Communicate system capabilities, constraints, and impacts to technical and operational audiences.
  • Participate in engineering reviews, design walkthroughs, and requirements validation sessions.
  • Support test planning and execution to validate functionality, performance, and security requirements.
  • Maintain system diagrams, interface specifications, engineering documents, and sustainment guides.
