About The Position

Are you ready to shape the future of aerospace with cutting-edge technology? Join our Rotary Wing Platform Systems Team within the Military Avionics group at Collins Aerospace. Here, you will play a crucial role in developing and testing avionics for US Army Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs. This dynamic position offers the flexibility to push the boundaries of technology, enhancing the capabilities of A/MH-6 (also referred to as Mission Enhanced Little Bird (MELB)) aircraft platform supporting the US Army 160th Regiment. This role requires a highly motivated person to help lead the charge for the SOA programs.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • U.S. Person – Military contract stipulates the candidates must be U.S. Persons.
  • Travel (domestic-US, and possible International) is possible of this position, estimating <10% of the year.

Nice To Haves

  • Collins Aerospace’s Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) or Avionics Management System (AMS) experience.
  • Avionics experience.
  • Experience (military or civil aircraft) in avionics systems, specifically testing and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge / understanding of data busses and protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429)
  • Experience with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA and/or Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
  • Organizational skills including associated documentation.
  • Research test requirements and prepare test plans and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • You will perform design, requirements, validation, & verification tasks for A/MH-6R cockpit avionics for the US Army Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs.
  • You will perform Platform Systems specific on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases).
  • You will support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams for different Avionics Management System (AMS) builds.
  • You will perform your tasks using various engineering tools including TNT, DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, SVN and others.
  • You will perform investigations of the Collins Aerospace lab hardware and environment; including integration investigations of the interfaces for Collin Aerospace equipment and government furnished equipment in the lab.
