About The Position

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Systems Engineer I to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance. This position is on site in Woburn, MA. You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date
  • Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS.
  • Experience with systems analysis, algorithms, requirements development, and/or signal processing techniques.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
  • Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture.
  • Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
  • Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
  • Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
  • Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
  • Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements
