About The Position

Join RTX’s systems engineering team to contribute to the development and integration of advanced systems on business and regional aircraft. The role involves work on software and hardware integration of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) within a Pro Line Fusion architecture, supporting systems throughout the development life cycle. The position is onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field, obtained by the start date.
Experience working in a collaborative team environment. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
Private Pilot License or a general passion for aviation.
Experience with avionics, aircraft systems, or other complex systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical ideas, assumptions, and issues.
Problem-solving skills in technical environments.

Responsibilities

Complete assignments involving the system development life cycle of software and hardware integration of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) within a Pro Line Fusion architecture.
Support system-level requirements development by analyzing customer specifications and translating them into hardware and software needs.
Participate in system integration activities, including defining interfaces and verifying system behavior against requirements.
Assist with verification and validation planning and execution, including test procedure development and data analysis.
Contribute to functional analyses, architectural exploration, and trade studies to evaluate design alternatives based on performance, cost, and risk.
