About The Position

Mission Intelligence Group is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Expert-Level) to support critical GEOINT missions across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agency environments. This role is ideal for a senior engineering professional who excels at integrating complex systems, developing innovative solutions, and guiding strategic technical initiatives that directly impact national security. As an Expert-Level Systems Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting requirements development, solutions engineering, integration, testing, and performance analysis. You will partner closely with government stakeholders to translate mission needs into scalable technical solutions, evaluate emerging technologies, and help drive enterprise-level systems engineering efforts across multiple organizations and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific discipline, including: Engineering Physics Mathematics Operations Research Engineering Management Computer Science Information Technology Management Information Systems Related STEM field OR Additional equivalent experience: 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree 2 years of additional experience with a non-STEM degree
  • 18+ years of relevant experience in government or industry supporting: DoD/IC Acquisition Processes Requirements Processes PPBES Processes Systems engineering within large, complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises
  • Previous experience supporting: NGA programs and projects; and/or NSG/ASG programs and projects
  • Previous Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) program experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully complete a polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, tools, and languages.
  • Software Development Framework certification.
  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Membership or leadership participation in professional organizations such as: ACSM ASCE ASPRS OGC SAREM USGIF
  • Extensive experience in the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) domain.
  • Experience developing solutions utilizing: Cloud technologies Structured and unstructured Big Data environments Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Photogrammetry Remote Sensing Image Science Information Sciences Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Geomatics Related geospatial disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support systems engineering activities across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency programs.
  • Assist the Government in requirements engineering, solutions engineering, and system integration efforts.
  • Analyze and maintain traceability of user requirements, architectures, processes, and system capabilities.
  • Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling constraints to improve mission performance.
  • Advise government stakeholders on solution designs, technical alternatives, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements.
  • Support requirements allocation to system architectures and executing programs.
  • Conduct and support systems integration, testing, evaluation, and engineering assessments.
  • Lead or contribute to Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), and trade studies.
  • Support strategic technical planning, performance engineering, interface design, and risk management activities.
  • Provide expert guidance relating mission objectives, strategy, requirements, and capability development.
  • Integrate efforts across multiple Major Systems Acquisitions and organizational boundaries.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers.
