About The Position

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Early Career Systems Engineer. In this role, you will perform systems engineering tasks supporting sustainment of various software and hardware systems. The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, co‑ops, senior design projects, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes (requirements capture, traceability, V&V).
  • Understanding of configuration management concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Introductory proficiency with Model Based Systems Engineering tools (Cameo, DOORS).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and the application of Agile principles within a systems engineering framework.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to present technical information to a bring to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, and test plans.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop system level requirements ensuring consistency and traceability back to customer objectives
  • Participate in Agile development teams and attend weekly status meetings
  • Support the Site Manager with occasional onsite duties, including visitor control, procurement, and logistics coordination.
