About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies is hiring an on-site Systems Engineer – DevOps in Germantown, Maryland. We’re looking for a DevOps engineer to develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines for our software-defined radar systems. This role involves working across virtualized environments and custom hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) infrastructure to support rapid, reliable software integration and testing. As a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, DRS RADA Technologies delivers proprietary radar solutions and supports legacy avionics systems for defense customers around the world. The company is a recognized pioneer in AESA tactical radar technology, supporting missions such as active military protection, counter-drone operations, critical infrastructure security, and border surveillance.

Requirements

  • Novice technical expertise and application domain knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Related technical field
  • Up to 2 years of experience with Python, C, C++, Rust, Bash, Powershell
  • Up to 2 years of experience managing server infrastructure and configurations
  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines and Groovy scripting
  • Experience with virtual machines and containerized solutions, i.e. EXXi, Proxmox, Docker, etc.
  • Git CLI knowledge and branching/merging basics
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with more than 2 years of relevant experience may be considered for a Level II position.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience with Atlassian software suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (groovy) to support validation of radar software releases
  • Develop and maintain DevOps infrastructure in local-hosted air-gapped environment, managing physical and virtual test assets for internal users
  • Work with team leads to integrate legacy systems with existing test infrastructures
  • Ability to work across many disparate software languages/technologies
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
  • Ability to work independently under supervision of others
  • Provide regular reporting on progress and status
  • Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
