About The Position

Join a cross-functional team developing, specifying, and testing mission-critical Department of Defense cybersecurity devices. You will design security architectures and protocols, develop cryptographic key-management strategies, and perform hands-on testing in the Interoperability Test Bed (ITB) for secure voice, data, and conferencing solutions. The Systems Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses, developing system security documentation, and providing system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support. The role involves developing and evaluating systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications. The Systems Engineer supports the generation of technical engineering products throughout the system development life cycle and influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework used across multiple products or systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience with cryptographic algorithms and secure communication systems.
  • Experience writing technical specifications and test plans.
  • Experience performing black-box testing of complex systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a multidisciplinary team.

  • Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and test engineering teams to deliver secure mission solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI to improve engineering processes and technical outcomes.
