Job Overview & Responsibilities Systems Engineer 3 reporting directly to the Mission Integration Systems Engineering (MISE) Leader in the Atlas and Vulcan Programs organization. ULA launches the most unique and complex spacecraft systems in the world for a variety of customers. The Mission Integration team is front and center working directly with ULA’s customers to develop and integrate each mission’s unique interface requirements. As a Mission Integration Systems Engineer, this position will work alongside Mission Managers and expert responsible engineers to successfully apply ULA’s systems engineering processes to each mission’s SV to LV interfaces. This position will ensure consistent application of systems engineering tools and processes to support ULA recurring mission integration across all ULA customer bases. The position also has a key role in ensuring continuous improvement of these same tools and processes. This position is required to lead multidisciplinary teams to evaluate customer needs and to develop the necessary solutions to support 100% mission success. The Systems Engineer 3 will also be expected to guide, coach, and mentor less experienced engineers on the team. The candidate will lead Mission Integration Systems Engineering activities including: Integration of mission interface requirements specifications. Requirements development and authoring. Leading requirements verification efforts. Gate Review preparation and execution. Management of risks, issues, and opportunity. Team and program execution planning. Technical decision making. Customer relationship communication. Proposal support. Trade study development. New and prospective mission interface compatibility assessments. Technical issue resolution. Leading issue resolution teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, applied mathematics, or similar from an accredited university
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to support others to ensure success for the whole team
  • Experience presenting technical material to large customer audiences.
  • Experience leading diverse multi-disciplined teams.
  • Experience working with existing and evolving launch vehicle or spacecraft systems.
  • Experience developing, integrating, assessing, and verifying system level aerospace requirements.
  • Experience coordinating system level design reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Experience with configuration control and/or systems engineering software tools.
  • Organization skills necessary to maintain focus and meet deadlines while supporting multiple different missions and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, applied mathematics, or similar from an accredited university.
  • Experience and background with large-scale launch vehicle programs, such as or similar to the Vulcan launch vehicle or its predecessors.
  • Experience with requirements development and management in Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
