About The Position

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level systems engineer who will be working on the watch floor and responsible for monitoring system health, availability, performance, and data pipelines; investigating alerts and incidents; performing authorized recovery actions; escalating unresolved issues; maintaining tickets, shift logs, SOPs, metrics, and reports; providing concise status updates and effective shift handoffs.

Requirements

  • Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph
  • Twenty (20) years-experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Security Plus Certification (or willingness to attain within 6 months)
  • Linux and command-line proficiency
  • Hardware, software, network, and data-flow troubleshooting
  • Clear communication and documentation
  • Ability to follow and maintain SOPs, prioritize incidents, and work independently in a 24x7 environment.
  • Jira, Confluence, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Redis, NiFi, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, virtualization, and monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RTRG Mission analytics operation and use
  • Ability to read a variety of Graphs of systems information and interpret them to discern correct operations
  • Ability to lead small team of WD shift personnel
  • Ability to direct and provide meaningful guidance to teammates

  • Troubleshooting dataflow and escalating as required
  • Troubleshooting network issue and escalating as required
  • Ability to read a variety of Graphs of systems information and interpret them to discern correct operations
  • Good communications skills written and verbal
  • Ability to dissect complex issues and generate concise accurate status
  • Generating metrics and reports for submission to customers using disparate data sources
  • Generating SOPs for use by the members of the Watch desk and/or customers
  • Ability to lead small team of WD shift personnel
  • Ability to direct and provide meaningful guidance to teammates
  • Maintain schedules as required
  • Linux and command-line proficiency
  • Hardware, software, network, and data-flow troubleshooting
  • Clear communication and documentation
  • Ability to follow and maintain SOPs, prioritize incidents, and work independently in a 24x7 environment.

Benefits

  • Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
