The System Development Manager for the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences at Johns Hopkins Medicine provides leadership and strategic oversight for technology systems that support both clinical care and research operations across the Baltimore and Washington, DC regions. Reporting to the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences, this role manages a multidisciplinary technical team responsible for the development, implementation, and support of applications and infrastructure that enable advanced radiation oncology services and research collaborations. This position leads three core functional areas: clinical applications analysts supporting radiation oncology–specific systems across multiple clinical sites, software developers responsible for building interfaces and custom applications that enhance clinical workflows and collaboration, and network engineering resources that manage departmental servers and infrastructure in coordination with centralized Johns Hopkins IT services. The current team consists of seven staff members supporting mission-critical clinical systems and research platforms. The System Development Manager plays a key role in departmental technology planning and execution, ensuring systems support high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and research innovation. The role will contribute to major technology initiatives, including the replacement of the department’s linear accelerator fleet and ongoing collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Proton Therapy Center, while maintaining strong alignment with enterprise IT strategy and institutional standards.
