Systems Design Engineer

AppleCupertino, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

Responsible for the system performance test of LTE and NR FR1 cellular bands on the upcoming Apple devices, involving bring up of devices that are usable by the end customer. Plan, develop, and execute test cases that help accomplish the baseline for the product’s performance while also ensuring inter-operability of the devices that stay intact on various cellular technologies like CDMA, UMTS, WCDMA, etc. Collect field logs of Apple devices on commercial telecom carriers which involves extensive use of Apple’s internal test suite and automation suite. Analysis of the collected logs and evaluation of the performance of Apple devices by using tools such as QXDM, QCAT, APEX, and using Python, ssh shell, Linux programming. Responsible for the data analysis and presentation to the management regarding the performance of Apple products and work with cross functional teams to ensure the performance is better than the previous release. Work with the hardware/software development teams and other cross functional teams on identifying issues impacting UE Cellular performance. Utilize superior cross functional communication skills to exchange ideas, interact with external teams and create a cohesive environment to execute tasks effectively. Prepare exhaustive test plans and device efficient methodologies to test new cellular features in Field Environments.
