About The Position

This role involves building and maintaining a self-service application delivery platform for AWS workloads. The engineer will design reusable Jenkins shared libraries and pipeline standards, create Terraform module stacks for various AWS services (ECS, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM), and define the YAML-based application contract for application teams. Key responsibilities include implementing promotion workflows, approvals, drift prevention, and environment separation, as well as partnering with developers, security, and operations to deliver secure golden paths. The position requires designing and developing end-to-end Jenkins Declarative and Scripted pipelines using Groovy for automated code promotion, building Terraform modules and root-module compositions, and supporting ECS Fargate and related AWS capabilities. The role also involves standardizing workflows, establishing Terraform state management practices, creating documentation and onboarding guides, and improving platform reliability, observability, security, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or additional FOUR (4) years experience in Lieu of degree
Four (4) to Ten (10) years Platform Development experience
Strong AWS experience, especially ECS, IAM, S3, SQS, Lambda, VPC, and CloudWatch.
Hands-on Terraform experience, including module design and backend/state management.
Jenkins pipeline expertise, preferably shared libraries and multibranch pipelines.
Experience creating reusable platform abstractions for multiple services.
Good scripting ability in Bash or Python.
Understanding of SDLC, deployment strategies, and release governance.
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience designing IDP (Internal developer platforms).
Experience with Spring Boot or containerized Java services.
Experience with approval gates, policy enforcement, and environment promotion.
Experience with multi-account AWS design.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous patterns.
Experience onboarding application teams to shared tooling.
Experience supporting ServiceNow-based low-code applications.
