Systems Architect

Arcfield•Herndon, VA

About The Position

The Systems Architect will support the Sponsor's Digital Workforce Solutions component within the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) element. The role assesses the current "as-is" architecture and establishes a future "to-be" architecture to help develop and implement common standards for data, metadata, APIs, security, and governance. These standards must align with the organization's strategic direction and enable interoperability and data sharing within EDM and across the Sponsor Agency. The architect will identify gaps and recommend approaches to meet mission needs, accelerate technology onboarding, and make element systems AI-ready. The role also supports the inclusion of records management processes and requirements in early IT solution design, the establishment of a central data lake or lakehouse for disparate data, and the creation of a scalable, secure microservices-based platform that enables EDM to realize the potential of its data lake or lakehouse.
