About The Position
Join Walmart’s Information Security team as a Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III, responsible for the design, implementation, support, automation, and continuous improvement of enterprise identity lifecycle management systems and supporting infrastructure. This role develops and maintains solutions that automate onboarding, workforce transitions, leave-of-absence processing, and offboarding activities across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and directory services. The Workforce Identity Lifecycle Management (WILM) team oversees the full lifecycle of workforce identities, ensuring accurate and timely account provisioning, updates, and deactivation. The team delivers automated identity services integrated with HR systems and supports platforms such as Active Directory and cloud environments. Focused on identity synchronization, automation, and governance, WILM enhances data accuracy, reduces manual tasks, and maintains secure, compliant identity operations. Their work ensures consistent identity data across the enterprise, provides essential access management, and drives continuous improvements in identity security and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in infrastructure design, including software architecture, distributed systems, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong knowledge of security standards, frameworks, and methodologies relevant to system security plans and risk compliance.
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and Java to streamline workflows and deployments.
- Experience with identity and access management systems, including Active Directory and authentication protocols.
- Ability to perform capacity management and rightsizing of IT resources aligned with business requirements.
- Familiarity with configuration management, release processes, and infrastructure maintenance best practices.
- Commitment to producing high-quality, secure, and maintainable code following industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 2 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
- OR 4 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area
- Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, support, and enhance enterprise user lifecycle management platforms and processes.
- Develop and maintain automated onboarding, job change, leave-of-absence, and offboarding workflows for associates and contingent workers.
- Partner with business and technology teams to ensure identity lifecycle processes align with operational, security, and compliance requirements.
- Support integration of authoritative sources and connected applications to ensure timely and accurate identity creation, modification, and termination events.
- Develop solutions that improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of identity lifecycle management processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot identity synchronization, provisioning, and account management processes across enterprise systems.
