About The Position

This is a Fidelity Leap Program - Systems Analyst position that starts on January 11, 2027. The Leap Program is a 10-week immersive program designed to help individuals transition from college to a full-time technology career. Participants will gain hands-on experience, build production-ready skills, and grow alongside a cohort of peers while solving real, complex business challenges. The program includes learning by building on real projects, using AI tools in daily workflows, cohort experience in a team-based setting, and career acceleration opportunities at Fidelity. The role of a Systems Analyst involves understanding how technology and business intersect to solve problems and deliver customer value. This role supports analysis activities, works on projects from start to finish, creates and maintains documentation, develops an understanding of business context and system workflows, supports data analysis, assists with testing, and explores emerging technologies like AI.

Requirements

  • Must have earned or be on track to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field by the start date.
  • Familiarity with requirements gathering, documentation, or systems analysis concepts (academic or internship experience).
  • Foundational awareness of data concepts (e.g., data flows, data validation, or querying).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to break down problems and ask thoughtful, clarifying questions.
  • Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Visio or Drawio.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis activities by participating in stakeholder discussions, capturing requirements, and helping clarify ambiguities with guidance from senior analysts and team members.
  • Work on real projects from start to finish, gaining exposure to the full delivery lifecycle including requirements, architecture, design, testing, and implementation.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and process/data flow diagrams using standard tools and templates, while describing basic concepts and major activities associated with requirements analysis.
  • Develop an understanding of business context, system workflows, data flows, and upstream/downstream dependencies across the technology landscape.
  • Support basic data analysis activities, including running queries, validating test data, and investigating simple data or system issues, while identifying gaps between current systems and future business needs.
  • Assist with testing efforts by creating test cases, executing tests, analyzing results, and logging defects.
  • Explore emerging tools and technologies, including AI, and learn how to apply them responsibly to improve analysis and delivery outcomes.
  • Contribute as part of a team focused on delivering solutions that help customers achieve their long-term financial goals.
