About The Position

Cambridge International Systems, Inc. is seeking a Systems Analyst to support operations in Patuxent River, MD. This full-time position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and offers the opportunity to travel to international locations. The role involves performing various testing procedures, applying engineering principles to analyze and implement solutions, and providing technical support for Department of Defense ranges and multidomain awareness systems in remote international locations. Duties include installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of electronic and computer equipment, as well as configuring hardware and software, managing equipment racking, and maintaining technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
  • BA/BS degree and applicable experience must be in engineering, computer science or other technical field or Six (6) years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree or associate degree plus four (4) years’ additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience associated with technical functions as related to development of system architecture for sensor systems.
  • Must have experience working in remote locations.
  • Must have hardware and software experience with multi-domain awareness systems, or other similar complicated sensor-based systems.
  • Must have strong technical background with computer system administration, network administration, and general understanding and the ability to install/troubleshoot most of the following types of systems: VHF/HF communications systems, video systems, radars, AIS, ADS-B, microwave communications systems and satellite communication systems.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, to include Excel, Project and Visio, to develop system architectures and to manage technical efforts in support of this program.
  • Must have a current and active DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PITCO (Pre-Installation Test Check-Out), POST (Power on Self-Test) & FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, implement, test, and evaluate solutions to customer requirements. Analysis includes evaluating power requirements, local power available and any other site preparations necessary to support an installation.
  • Analysis and architecture include hardware requirements, communications systems, cameras, and computer systems.
  • Requirement analysis and architecture development are in support of Department of Defense ranges and multidomain awareness in remote international locations, subjected to extreme environmental conditions.
  • Provides technical and engineering support services, works with various types of electronic/computer equipment and related devices, performing one or more of the following tasks: performing on site repair of systems; plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems; installations of systems or system components; participates in setting up, installing and initiating the operation of, servicing of and training on, systems in the field.
  • Assists senior level analysts in developing work plans required to ensure that all equipment has been tested and operational before scheduled use.
  • Installation of Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers and antennas, radars, Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) receivers and antennas, security cameras, surveillance cameras, VHF/HF communications sets, microwave communications systems, satellite communications systems, domain awareness systems that include workstations, servers, and monitors, generator sets, renewable energy systems, routers, networks, encryption solutions, cross domain solutions, etc.
  • Installation of sensor systems requires conducting work on towers and buildings and could involve the use of heavy equipment for site preparation.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on communications, radar, avionics, or mission systems equipment.
  • Support system testing and evaluation in laboratory and field environments.
  • Maintain technical documentation in accordance with government and program requirements.
  • Configure hardware and software settings according to client specifications, ensuring systems meet functional requirements before deployment.
  • Installs and tests hardware components, such as servers, routers, switches, and various network devices.
  • Manages and executes the racking of equipment in server rooms, following specific elevation and layout diagrams provided by clients.
  • Connects and organizes power cables and network cabling according to cable management plans to maintain efficient setups.
  • Labels all hardware devices, cables, and power supplies to adhere to customer labeling schemas and facilitate easy identification.
  • Records detailed information regarding hardware configurations, serial numbers, and asset tags into designated tracking systems.
  • Runs diagnostic and performance tests on installed hardware to confirm the setups meet the specified benchmarks and operational standards.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to clients and less experienced technicians.
