About The Position

Configures, designs and maintains new and existing software systems. Works extensively with users to ensure the design of the software application supports the business requirements. Supportive of the Village’s mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training as required by policy.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, preferably in computer science.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must carry proof of auto insurance.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or IT support preferred.
  • Advanced keyboarding skills.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and understand federal and state regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) or other electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft SQL is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply analysis techniques to both internal and third-party software systems with the goal being to ensure that the design and functionality of the software satisfies the clinical and business requirements of each care setting.
  • Works with the users to determine what forms/assessments are required in enterprise applications and then builds the forms/assessments using internal application tools.
  • Work with key stakeholders to study their processes and identify where new processes or process modifications are required. Subsequently modifies the design and configuration of the software — designing and building new processes, creating/revising forms and assessments, redesigning security infrastructure and configuring these elements in the software, updating required field status on fields available to the users and other system design/configuration updates as required.
  • Work with users to determine appropriate and effective hardware and software tools required for the business need.
  • Work extensively with the users to analyze software problems and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Train users on software functionality.
  • Use creative skills to quickly resolve the most critical problems that occur in production applications, systems software and their supporting environments.
  • After identifying a new system requirement, design the system workflow that will support the business need and then work with the senior systems analyst to develop/redesign the added/enhanced functionality. Subsequently, test the new/enhanced functionality for flaws or required redesign.
  • Test and apply software updates.
  • Design reports.
  • Maintain expertise in current application software and hardware technologies.
  • Provide after-hours support for on-call and regular maintenance for software applications.
  • Consult with users to identify needs and develop efficient workflow processes for all software that addresses electronic health record capture and storage.
  • Evaluate and recommend computer systems, if required.
  • Research commercially available software to meet Village needs.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.
  • Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department.
  • Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.
