About The Position

UPMC is hiring a Systems Analyst-Senior for their Application Engineering team. This role requires a proficient level of experienced analytical services, defining requirements, developing, and/or maintaining computer applications/systems, and providing services to meet client IT and business needs. The position is fully remote and operates during standard business hours in eastern standard time.

Requirements

  • Typically has 5+ years' experience with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated to exceed expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of information technology fundamental tools and concepts (SDLC) of one of the information technology professional disciplines and applies that understanding to make independent practical contributions to IT work within a UPMC department or function.

Responsibilities

  • Performing manual testing in relation to Enrollment, Group Product, and Premium billing.
  • Completing detail-oriented documentation for new and moderately complex processes, ensuring quality and validity.
  • Extracting and documenting customer/business requirements and needs for enterprise architecture and engineering teams.
  • Independently triaging and resolving Level 2 and Level 3 support issues, acting as a mentor to less experienced staff.
  • Handling problem management as appropriate.
  • Taking ownership of projects, distributing tasks to team members, and meeting milestone completion.
  • Updating all project management and time tracking tools.
  • Having a proficient understanding of multiple system/application development life cycles.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and data quality.
  • Interacting with vendors independently for technical issues and project initiatives, acting as the point person for issue escalation.
  • Writing and analyzing complex reports, and making modifications to them.
  • Mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Communicating with the business and acting as a business analyst.
  • Creating training content and facilitating detailed user training sessions, as well as training peers.
  • Managing process improvement efforts, creating and updating processes, and recognizing opportunities for improvements.
  • Identifying new functionality and/or hardware requirements for application upgrades and implementations.
  • Creating test plans, reviewing and validating functionality, and reporting problems.
  • Creating and/or managing cutover plans including downtime.
  • Evaluating impact and coordinating efforts across multiple platforms.
  • Coordinating tasks and resources related to system integration, validation of testing, and implementation.
  • Performing in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Maintaining a standby status as part of a rotation within the team, requiring 24/7 availability during the standby period.
