About The Position

The purpose of this position is to apply structured analysis, data modeling, and information engineering to analyze information processing and to provide technical support to assigned departments. This role involves meeting with end-users to determine desired outcomes and system requirements, coordinating information systems with user objectives, developing and reviewing standards and procedures, and testing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with application and system functionality. The position also provides information system user support, designs or modifies configurations to meet user needs, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, it involves troubleshooting end-user problems, escalating issues as appropriate, and ensuring the continual operation of customers' software applications. The role includes installing and maintaining personal computer hardware/software, converting old system data to new systems, coding, maintaining, and compiling applications, and installing updates. System administration, supporting system access, and maintaining awareness of new applications and technologies are also key aspects. The position requires processing various documentation, operating equipment including a personal computer, and communicating with various stakeholders. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of related experience in information systems analysis utilizing complex department specific database systems, computer programming, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

  • Attends conferences, workshops, and training sessions as appropriate.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes, and per established procedures.
  • Receives and reviews various documentation, including system and application documentation, work orders, contracts and department data.
  • Reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate.
  • Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, including diagrams, training materials, and project timelines.
  • Compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports.
  • Maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
  • Operates and maintains a motor vehicle and other power or motorized equipment.
  • Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software.
  • Operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
  • Communicates with County officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
