About The Position

The principal duty of all employees is to assist in the mission of the Church in the Diocese of Fort Worth. We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and improve the day-to-day technology needs of our organization. This role supports Windows systems administration, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, user accounts, desktops and devices, printers, connectivity, documentation, and reliable IT operations across office and parish locations. As a ministry of the Catholic Diocese, this position serves staff, parishes, and diocesan operations in support of the mission of the Church. Candidates should be comfortable working in a Catholic environment and supporting the mission, values, confidentiality, and day-to-day operational needs of a diocesan organization. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on systems administration experience who enjoys both user support and technical problem-solving. The right candidate will work independently on routine and moderately complex technical issues, help maintain reliable systems, support Microsoft 365 and Windows environments, assist with device and user management, and help improve documentation, standardization, and IT operations over time.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and common office peripherals
  • Experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365 in a business environment
  • Working knowledge of Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, user accounts, groups, and permissions
  • Experience with endpoint support, device deployment, software installation, patching, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server concepts, file permissions, DNS, DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and communicate clearly with non-technical users
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tickets, projects, and priorities
  • Willingness to travel locally to parish or office sites as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, recognize risk, and know when to escalate
  • Strong documentation habits and attention to detail in production environments
  • Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Two years of college required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equal years of experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of IT support, desktop support, systems administration, or related technical experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 admin tasks, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and device management
  • Experience with PowerShell for Microsoft 365, Windows, Active Directory, reporting, troubleshooting, or basic automation
  • Experience with ticketing systems, documentation platforms, and IT asset tracking
  • Familiarity with Catholic parish, school, or diocesan operations preferred
  • Experience working in a mission-driven, nonprofit, church, or multi-site environment is a plus
  • Experience with workstation deployment, printer deployment, user provisioning, patching, and endpoint lifecycle management
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, device compliance, application deployment, and configuration profiles
  • Familiarity with backup concepts, security best practices, MFA, conditional access, endpoint security, and vulnerability remediation
  • Interest in process improvement, standardization, and automation

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary technical resource for Windows systems, endpoints, Microsoft 365, user accounts, printers, and common office technology
  • Monitor, respond to, and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Windows PCs, printers, Microsoft 365, user accounts, email, connectivity, authentication, and common office technology
  • Resolve routine and moderately complex technical problems independently, while escalating higher-risk or business-critical issues appropriately
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related administrative tasks
  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, device preparation, license assignment, mailbox setup, access changes, and documentation
  • Support Windows endpoint management, including PC deployment, software installation, patching, printer support, device configuration, and hardware replacement
  • Assist with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, file permissions, DNS/DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting as needed
  • Use PowerShell and administrative tools for routine administration, reporting, troubleshooting, cleanup, and basic automation
  • Travel occasionally to parish and other local sites for on-premises support, setup, troubleshooting, and small-scale deployments
  • Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, asset records, system notes, and support ticket details
  • Assist with IT projects such as workstation refreshes, device rollouts, Microsoft 365 improvements, system cleanup efforts, security improvements, and process standardization
  • Identify repetitive support issues and help document, automate, or improve processes so common problems can be resolved more efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with staff, leadership, vendors, and parish contacts regarding issue status, next steps, timelines, and support expectations
