About The Position

Seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support the development, testing, and operations of spacecraft and ground systems at BAE Systems, Space and Mission Systems. The position will serve as a technical resource to programs and engineering staff within integrated development teams to meet strategic and organizational goals. The role is responsible for the application of advanced technologies to operate, integrate, and maintain complex Linux Information Systems in a secure enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and 4 or more years of related experience; or HS Diploma and 8 or more years of related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Associate’s, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for additional years of related experience.
  • Related certifications may count towards years of related experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI Polygraph security clearance is required.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • Red Hat Certified Administrator (RHCSA) Certification or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience as a system administrator or software engineering in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of experience working in a classified environment.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent advanced Linux certifications.
  • Experience with Automation and IaC technologies and platforms including Ansible Automation, Terraform, Puppet,Chef, Vmware, AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Experience with container platforms including Podman, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Software Development practices including scripting in Python, Ruby, Bash, JavaScript, and CI/CD technologies including Git, Gitlab, GitOps, DevOps, etc.
  • Experience supporting DISA, CMMC, DFARS, and NIST compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the deployment and administration of secure Linux systems and Infrastructure Services to meet programmatic and customer requirements.
  • Expected to operate and maintain Ansible Automation playbooks and roles to support hardware, virtual, container based, and commercial cloud hosted environments.
  • Work includes implementation, configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and monitoring of Linux services and solutions.
  • Participate within an integrated development team and processes including software development methodologies and practices.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
