About The Position

TCS is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support IT operations at NSWC Crane. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the customer's IT infrastructure, including endpoint administration, STIG compliance, and security protocols, while troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring optimal system performance. This position requires significant travel and is fully on-site with no telework option.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on systems administration.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • MUST hold a current CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Familiarity with IT compliance, industry standards, and DoD/DoN regulatory requirements.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues independently.
  • Communication skills sufficient to interact with team members, program leads, and senior leadership on technical matters.
  • Timely and professional responsiveness to internal and external correspondence.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a defense or government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with IT security practices and risk management in airgapped network environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging environment where obtaining resources and support requires proactive coordination.
  • Familiarity with network communications configuration (future requirement as environment evolves).
  • Exposure to SQL queries and SQL server environments (future requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows 11 endpoints in a secure, classified environment.
  • Apply and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements through Windows Registry configuration and group policy compliance.
  • Conduct ACAS scans and manage scanner and server operations.
  • Run, examine, and remediate SCAP scan findings; determine and apply required patches and updates.
  • Configure and support RS232 serial communications, including USB to COM port converters, in support of Fuel & Electrical (F&E) test stand operations.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and support system operations.
  • Create and manage WIM files using Microsoft Deployment Tool (MDT) for system imaging and deployment.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established standards, policies, rules, and procedures.
