About The Position

The Systems Administrator primarily performs monitoring, maintenance, installation, upgrades, and end-user support on Windows Domain servers and related hardware & software infrastructure across multiple sites. This will involve using best practices for deployment and management of systems as well as responding to and diagnosing problems through discussion with support teams and end users, including problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, documentation and follow-up steps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of System Administration experience in a fast-paced corporate environment; retail highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Domain Group Policy and InTune security policy necessary to support and enforce company HR, Network, Security, and/or Regulatory Compliance policies.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange Hybrid, Exchange Online roles, O365 management and email incident remediation.
  • Strong understanding of Delegation and Security Group strategies in support of least privilege access control and auditing policies.
  • Strong understanding of PowerShell AD & Exchange Shell management.
  • Demonstrate associate level knowledge of Windows Server including but not limited to Active Directory user management, DNS, DHCP, File and Storage, Print and Document, Remote Desktop, Volume Activation, Web Server, Windows security patching and hardware maintenance.
  • Demonstrate basic-to-intermediate knowledge of various virtualization platforms.
  • Demonstrate basic-to-intermediate knowledge of networking protocols and hardware.
  • Demonstrate ability to translate complex concepts into simple process flows.
  • Ability to work independently while executing projects from vision through implementation.
  • Experience in Azure/AWS cloud management.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review server logs and take actions based on events found.
  • Perform regularly scheduled backup restoration testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • User account management: create, modify and decommission user accounts as directed.
  • Regularly audit Active Directory for users and objects no longer needing to be there.
  • Assess servers and disable features and services not required for production on a per server basis.
  • Review and adjust GPO’s where applicable per office and department.
  • Analyze & identify upgrades to essential IT systems and make recommendations for systems and servers based on patch release cycles.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and media is recycled.
  • Manage Office 365 tenant, assigning licenses, enabling or disabling features, troubleshooting issues and performing audits and compliance reviews.
  • Manage the phone systems across the Boot Barn infrastructure.
  • Develop, create and maintain scripts to support most repetitious activities.
  • Support the file storage systems and assign access and permissions as requested or needed.
  • Enroll and manage devices in our MDM solution.
  • Support mail and mail flow along with filtering via our mail security suite.
  • Manage server certificates.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Conduct quarterly User Access Reviews per the compliance department’s needs.
  • Determine what patches are safe to release based on testing.
  • Create documentation supporting administrative duties assigned in a centralized and shared location. Update documentation as needed.
  • Undertake project work – installing new Windows and Linux based systems, servers and services for specific uses and purposes.
  • Utilize a helpdesk ticketing system to track projects, log support calls, and keep management up to date with all issues.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
  • Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations.
  • Adheres to local, state and federal laws.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
  • Understands and complies with all company rules and regulations.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
