About The Position

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of the organization's enterprise infrastructure. This role provides technical expertise across servers, virtualization, storage, identity management, and Microsoft cloud technologies while ensuring the stability, security, and performance of critical business systems. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of direct systems administration experience and demonstrates effective communication skills, a customer-service mindset, forward-thinking problem-solving abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement. This individual will serve as a technical leader within the IT Operations team, driving modernization initiatives and partnering across the business to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments with multiple locations and diverse business operations.
  • Experience with any combination of the following technologies: VMware vSphere, Microsoft 365 Administration, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Services (DNS, DHCP), Pure Storage, Microsoft Azure Services, Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions, PowerShell Scripting and Automation, Endpoint Management Platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across technical and non-technical teams and build trusted relationships throughout the organization.
  • Forward-thinking and strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate infrastructure needs, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend solutions that support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related domain services.
  • Maintain enterprise virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere and associated technologies.
  • Monitor and optimize server performance, availability, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Support Microsoft Entra ID administration, identity governance, conditional access, and authentication technologies.
  • Participate in cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
  • Manage user provisioning, licensing, security policies, and role-based access controls.
  • Administer and support enterprise storage environments including Pure Storage platforms.
  • Monitor storage health, performance, replication, and capacity utilization.
  • Develop and execute storage improvement and optimization strategies.
  • Maintain system security configurations and assist with cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Support vulnerability remediation efforts and security hardening activities.
  • Participate in security audits, compliance assessments, and incident response efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to established IT governance, policies, and standards.
  • Lead or participate in infrastructure projects such as migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and system deployments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that increase reliability, security, efficiency, and business value.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • Document technical procedures, architecture, standards, and support knowledge.
  • Serve as a Tier III escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with help desk, network, security, and application teams to resolve incidents and prevent recurring issues.
  • Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance activities as required.
  • Maintain a strong customer-service orientation while supporting end users and business stakeholders.
