About The Position

Leidos has an immediate need for a Linux Systems Administrator to support the Advanced Enterprise Global Information Technology Solutions (AEGIS) contract at NASA's Marshall Space Center in Huntsville, AL. The AEGIS contract provides high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services to NASA customers worldwide. As a member of the Corporate Enterprise Network Management Systems team this position is supporting agency-wide network management and automation systems.

Requirements

Experience in the design, installation, configuration, and support of enterprise applications and systems
Solid understanding of data and telecommunication technologies and networking fundamentals.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive leadership

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting NASA or other mission-critical, real-time operational environments
Knowledge of Cisco Software Defined Networking technologies
Security + and/or Network + certifications
Ability to produce and maintain Python programs or shell scripts in a UNIX environment for automation and data migration between systems.
Strong Linux/RHEL and Windows foundations
iDRAC Experience
VMware Experience
Storage Array (Nexsan, Dell Unity)

Responsibilities

Ensure the day-to-day operation and ongoing support of Servers and Systems including event, fault, and performance management.
Develop solutions to monitor, notify, and correct anomalies/alarms.
Design the environment and software layers to provide for a reliable, scalable, secure and highly available Linux and Windows environment.
Find gaps in the Linux and Windows environment and use analytical skills and knowledge of problem-solving methodologies to provide solutions.
Lead efforts and work closely with systems administrators, database and application administrators/programmers, network engineers/analysts and outside vendors in engineering solutions or resolving problems.
Act as a lead consulting and training resource for e-root architectural environment.
Provide guidance to systems administrators, network engineers/analysts on the configuration of server hardware and architectures to meet application and service requirements.
