About The Position

This role involves supporting and expanding FDOT infrastructure, coordinating server configurations, and making recommendations for upgrades. The Systems Administrator will monitor systems for security, availability, and performance, troubleshoot issues, and establish network and system configurations. Key responsibilities include managing Azure DevOps projects, overseeing cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP), and supporting various Microsoft platforms including Power Platform and Microsoft 365. The position also requires building relationships in a matrixed environment and identifying opportunities for performance and cost optimization.

Requirements

5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or another related field is required.
3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
2 – 3 years experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
2 – 3 years IIS Administration.
2 – 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions.

Nice To Haves

2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
2 – 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or GCP is highly desired.
2 – 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired.
3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Support and expand FDOT infrastructure.
Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors).
Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud services.
Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Power Platform.
Understand and manage Microsoft 365 services.
Supports other IT staff, including developers.
Other duties as assigned.
