About The Position

Agile Defense is seeking a Systems Administrator - UNIX to join their team at Fort Huachuca, AZ. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining servers running RedHat Linux operating systems, recommending hardware and software upgrades, monitoring system performance, performing backups and recoveries, configuring hardware, providing on-call support, ensuring security compliance with DISA STIGs, and automating tasks. The position requires collaboration, prioritization, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in computer science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering OR 2 years of experience with AA/AS OR 4 years of experience with no degree
  • DoW 8140 Compliance – CompTIA Security+ or Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Systems Security Certified Practitioner
  • Certifications in RedHat Linux or Unix OS administration
  • Active Secret US security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers running RedHat Linux operating systems, adhering to established internal processes.
  • Recommend hardware and software upgrades based on growth statistics.
  • Schedule, plan, and perform system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments.
  • Monitor log files and system performance to identify and resolve software, operating system, and networking problems in mission-critical systems.
  • Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups and, when necessary, perform data recoveries.
  • Configure hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support for UNIX/Linux-related issues and provide general technical support for system users.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to maintain and enhance the security posture of the environment, including adherence to the DISA STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) process.
  • Schedule tasks using software support tools and scripts.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to achieve organizational goals, effectively setting priorities and organizing tasks to meet deadlines.
