About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager, Surveillance Systems, the Systems Administrator plays a key role in the strategic planning, deployment, configuration, security, and ongoing management of surveillance systems and infrastructure directly influencing system performance, compliance, and security through informed decision-making. This role maintains system integrity, ensuring rapid recovery, and supporting uninterrupted preserving sustaining the integrity of surveillance operations, ensuring surveillance systems comply with department, Tribal, state, and federal regulations, thereby supporting uninterrupted gaming activity mitigating operational shutdowns. This is for all properties owned and operated by the Tribe under the department’s purview including but not limited to, Yaamava Resort & Casino, Retail, Entrainment Venue, Amenities, Food & Beverage areas, numerous remote site locations and Reservation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Surveillance Technology, Information Technology (IT), Low Voltage Systems, Surveillance Systems Technical Support, IT Data Center Operations, Proficiency in server operating systems, Problem-solving, Access Control Systems or any related technical field required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Experience in configuring, installing and troubleshooting IT systems, appliances, and devices such as servers, switches, network, storage devices, PC’s, etc. required.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven commitment to working in a team environment with a capacity for self-direction, and a strong willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English for safety purposes.
  • Must be personable and professional, capable of using caution and discretion in communication.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and previous experience of Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, Streamvault experience strongly preferred.
  • Direct experience with Palo Alto, Pure Storage, Dell Isilon, Cisco, ESXi, Extreme switching and centralized storage appliances is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security principles and techniques, group policies, and asset management tools, applied in securing operating systems, data and LAN/WAN networks preferred.
  • Experience with IT systems monitoring tools (i.e. SolarWinds, Dynatrace).
  • Vocational/Technical/Business certification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA (various), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or Extreme Networks, Extreme Networks Associate (XNA), Extreme Certified Specialist (ECS), or Extreme Design Specialist (EDS) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, monitors maintain, and troubleshoot servers, network switches, network performance, storage devices, wireless devices, PC clients, peripherals, virtualization, domain controllers, active directory, and software applications, as well as integration. Ensures all Surveillance Department system components; equipment and infrastructure are installed and operating in strict alignment with industry, regulatory, and department standards.
  • Configures, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots IT systems and devices, including servers, switches, networks, storage solutions, and personal computers. This includes administration of multisite storage environments such as SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and DAS (Direct Attached Storage), utilizing technologies like Fiber Channel (FC) and iSCSI (Internet Small Computer Systems Interface).
  • Configures, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots operating systems and applications such as Windows Server (SQL Server-Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Others), VMware, vSphere & vCenter administration, video management software, backup software, reporting software, Point of Sale datamining software, video analytics software. Performs regularly scheduled systems checks, manage backups, verifies data integrity, conducts regularly scheduled audits, manages user accounts and permissions, and provides technical support to end-users.
  • Maintains thorough diagnostic process and troubleshoots, surveillance systems and applications, ensuring optimization to include regularly deployment of updates as needed. Processes work orders, documents work performed, provides accurate daily and/or weekly status reporting.
  • Responds to and proactively plans for service outages, leading resolution efforts in collaboration with Surveillance Technicians, external vendors, and support teams. Contributes to the development and execution of key strategies, best practices, and optimization tactics for system performance. Provides input during project planning and task execution, negotiates and meets deadlines in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, and works extended hours as needed to ensure system continuity.
  • Provides expert knowledge and support for business applications. Provides feedback and/or solutions to projects, tasks and technical, physical installation, or mechanical challenges. Research surveillance and IT technologies make recommendations on enhancements to ensure efficient and cost-effective surveillance systems operation. Participates in development and implementation of key strategies, best practices, and tactics ensuring systems optimization.
  • Performs assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision by adapting to new technologies and processes through required training and operates server lift equipment safely and in compliance with company standards.
  • Reviews and stays current on the Surveillance Department Manual (SDM), San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission Regulations, Casino policies and procedures, and applicable Federal, State, and Tribal regulations by completing required training, monitoring updates at least quarterly, and applying this knowledge to ensure compliance in YSMN operations.
  • Responds to enterprise technical support requests on an on-call basis ensuring availability and resolution of critical issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
