MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Systems Administrator Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer. Monitors, administers, and restores mission IT systems. Administers and repairs servers, databases, KVM devices, workstations, and complex visual display systems across multiple classified and unclassified networks. Monitors, creates, tracks, manages, resolves and closes tickets including incidents, problems and RITMs. Works with vendors to resolve Tier 4 issues. Administers and coordinates hardware/software IT system improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors IT systems utilizing industry leading processes, technologies, and tools. Provides timely resolution to tickets using processes, procedures, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting skills. Works and coordinates with others to accomplish mission goals for IT systems. Plans implementation of enhancements to mission IT systems. Oversees the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers, storage, and workstations including physical and virtual environments. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions. Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots moderate to complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups. Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware/software installations. Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates. Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities. Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements. Manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services. Participates in disaster recover drills and business continuity planning. Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving complex hardware, software and system related issues. Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes. Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics. Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services. Provides recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices. May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures. Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment: CompTIA Security+ CE is the minimum certification
  • Experience with ThinkLogical IT systems preferred
  • Proficiency in managing server environments such as Windows/Linus.
  • Experience with Active Directory and other core IT services.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve system issues and security threats quickly.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Must have experience with Intelligence Community customer
  • Must have experience working with mid and senior level government
  • Must have experience supporting classified government networks
  • US Citizenship Required
