About The Position

Peraton is currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator - Senior. This role involves maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network engineers, and monitoring system resources to ensure optimal performance. The administrator will also handle security functions, user account management, system documentation, performance tuning, software installation, and storage allocation. Additionally, the position requires interacting with users, evaluating vendor products, making hardware and software purchase recommendations, coordinating installations, and managing backup and recovery processes. The role also includes developing and monitoring policies for the use of computing resources.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA
Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA
Minimum of 3 years with PhD
12 years w/o BS/BA
10 years with an Associates Degree
Active DoD Active Clearance

Responsibilities

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
Setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
