We are excited for the opportunity to bring aboard highly motivated and energetic individuals to join our teams. Currently, we are seeking a Systems Administrator. This role supports a customer in Kinston, NC. Job Description and Responsibilities: A Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing an organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; CSWF acceptable cert (Certified Network Defender (CND), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+) and 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • OR Bachelor's in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems; a CSWF cert
  • Security Clearance: Secret (must be a US Citizen)

Nice To Haves

  • Efficient with operating systems (Windows, Linux is a +) and networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of databases
  • Ability to Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Knowledge of security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation for system administration tasks.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance and Monitoring: Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network equipment
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to ensure uptime and reliability
  • Security Management: Implement and manage user access controls, firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and data backup/recovery procedures to protect organizational data
  • Software and Hardware Management: Install, upgrade, and maintain software applications and hardware
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption
  • User Support and Training: Respond to employee IT issues, provide technical support, and create documentation or training materials to help staff use systems effectively
  • Network Administration: Manage LAN/WAN networks, VoIP systems, wireless networks, and cloud-based services
  • Monitor network traffic, bandwidth, and performance
  • System Optimization and Reporting: Analyze system performance, generate reports, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and security
