About The Position

Dempsey Uniform is hiring a Junior Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT environment. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting end users, and building hands-on experience across systems, infrastructure, and daily operations. You’ll work across office, production, and remote environments while gaining exposure to systems administration, cloud tools, networking, and device management. As part of a service-focused IT team, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement and use tools—including AI—where they meaningfully improve efficiency and the employee experience.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and hands-on experience will be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, or junior systems administration roles.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows Server (2019/2022), including Active Directory administration and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls, along with experience using ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management .
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with clear communication and a patient, service-oriented approach to end-user support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in using AI tools to improve productivity, troubleshooting, and documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V) and scripting (PowerShell preferred) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+, MD-102, or AZ-900 are also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and support across core systems and network functions, ensuring continuity when senior team members are unavailable.
  • Support and maintain core IT infrastructure, including Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP), virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V), and cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including patching, updates, system monitoring, backup oversight, and participation in disaster recovery processes.
  • Maintain and document network and hardware environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and asset lifecycle tracking.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support across office, production, and remote environments, including ticket management, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving connectivity and device-related problems.
  • Set up and deploy user workstations and devices, and support onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning and equipment management.
  • Communicate effectively with end users, escalate complex issues as needed, and contribute to internal documentation and knowledge base resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT operations through automation and responsible use of AI tools, while following company guidelines and security best practices.
