About The Position

The Junior Systems Administrator provides technical support for computer systems, networks, and related infrastructure. The role assists with system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance management, while supporting system backup and recovery, security management, and installation and configuration of hardware and software.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of hands-on technical experience with system backup and recovery; basic software management; security management; network management; operating computer systems; sizing, performance tuning, installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and COTS software; hardware, software, and network design; troubleshooting; and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of system backup and recovery processes.
• Knowledge of basic software management and system administration practices.
• Knowledge of security management and network management.
• Knowledge of computer system operations and hardware/software configuration.
• Knowledge of operating systems and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.
• Ability to support system sizing, performance tuning, and resource allocation.
• Ability to assist with hardware, software, and network design and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Naval Surface Warfare Center / DoD Test and Evaluation support preferred.
