About The Position

VARITE is seeking a qualified Systems Administrator - III for a remote role. The client is a central banking system of the United States that manages monetary policy, regulates financial institutions, provides banking services, and acts as a lender of last resort during financial crises. Requirements

  • Provide middleware IBM WebSphere System Administration support for critical applications.
  • Seasoned WebSphere Application server Administrator with advance knowledge of HTTP, Application Server, Java and Plugin components [version 8.5.5 and 9 ND edition].
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, installations, failover, disaster recovery, security configuration, LTM, Junctions, certificate management, Performance tuning for WebSphere.
  • Strong UNIX and Scripting skills (Shell Scripts, Python/Jython).
  • Familiarity with MQ, File Transfer and Database (Oracle/SQL) connectivity to WebSphere.
  • Good communication and collaborative skills dealing with customers, other technical partners.
  • Familiarity with Change management process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WebSphere Liberty, WebSphere MORE is a plus.
  • Automation tools e.g. XL/Deploy.
  • Ansible automation, CI/CD-GitLab experience is preferred.
  • AWS, terraform familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide middleware IBM WebSphere System Administration support for critical applications.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Document automation processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge with Federal Reserve resources and assist with the development of in-house expertise.
  • Mentor team members and conduct code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in automated systems.
  • Continuously improve existing automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
