Responsibilities An Average Day : As the Systems Administrator I (Domain & Server) you will be responsible for providing foundational administration, maintenance, and technical support for enterprise IT infrastructure, including Microsoft Server environments and domain services. You will assist with the operation of critical systems such as Active Directory, Exchange Server, DNS, and DHCP services, while supporting Windows and Linux server environments to maintain performance, security, and availability. You will also support system monitoring, routine troubleshooting, account administration, documentation, and coordination with senior team members and cross-functional teams to meet organizational technology needs. Additionally, in this position you will: Assist in administering and maintaining Windows and Linux servers to support system availability and performance. Support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and patching of operating systems and applications. Assist with virtualization environments (e.g., NUTANIX) and perform routine administrative tasks related to hosted systems. Follow established security procedures, including access control, systems hardening, and vulnerability remediation activities. Support storage administration, backup processes, and recovery operations. Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities. Create and update documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting activities. Troubleshoot routine system issues and escalate more complex incidents as appropriate. Work with cross-functional teams, including network, security, and application teams, to support day-to-day infrastructure operations. Support infrastructure improvement efforts under the guidance of senior administrators.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
  • Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in systems administration or related IT support, with hands-on experience in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Must hold a current 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
  • Foundational knowledge of server administration, domain services, and enterprise infrastructure support.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with storage management, backup, and recovery concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Basic knowledge of security frameworks, including NIST, FISMA, or DISA STIG compliance.
  • Must be able to work under direction while managing assigned tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Good troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve routine system issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
