About The Position

Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Systems Administrator Level 3 in support of Linux environments for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages LINUX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. The role requires extensive experience with LINUX, containerization, KVM virtualization, and automation tools like Ansible/SALT. A significant amount of experience with SSP compliance, maintaining STE/STN compliance, managing accounts, network rights, access to systems and equipment, and implementing security procedures and tools is also necessary. The candidate will configure and install systems hardware or software and maintain server and domain security requirements. Responsibilities include optimizing system operations, resource utilization, system capacity analysis and planning, and providing in-depth troubleshooting of IT systems. Detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets will be provided to management and customers. Support for the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware is also part of the role, along with a working knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The candidate will analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Requirements

  • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph from the MD Customer is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.
  • Experience with LINUX
  • Experience with storage management
  • Containerization experience, KVM virtualization
  • Scripting experience with Bash, Perl, Python etc.
  • Experience with FreeIPA.
  • Application management support and general troubleshooting.
  • Have a good deal of experience with SSP compliance, maintaining STE/STN compliance and support on Linux systems.
  • Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required for Level 2.
  • Fifteen (15) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required for Level 3.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570; such as Security + CE or a qualifying certification is required.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level 2; such as Security + CE or a qualifying certification is required for Level 3.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation tools is a bonus such as Ansible/SALT.

Responsibilities
