About The Position

CGS Administrators, LLC (CGS) is part of BCBSSC™'s Celerian Group of companies and provides a variety of services for Medicare beneficiaries, healthcare providers, and medical equipment suppliers in 38 states, supporting the needs of over 8.7 million Medicare beneficiaries and 103,000 healthcare professionals nationwide. The CGS IT team consists of ~ 115 people. You will be a part of the Production Support team, which includes about 10 System Support Administrators. The Production Support team is responsible for numerous morning/daily checks to ensure CGS applications are operational and functioning properly. This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future. The work environment is fast-paced, multi-platformed, and may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer. It is a customer-focused, project-oriented applications support environment. The purpose of this position is to provide system/production support and monitoring for applications, batch cycles, releases, projects, implementations, installations, etc., and to participate in work sessions for system support and problem resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in a job related field
  • Associates degree plus an extra 2 years job-related experience for a total of 4 years of required work experience OR 6 total years required work experience
  • 2 years of technical experience with systems analysis, design, and/or programming experience or other job-related IT experience.
  • Comprehends data storage techniques, basic database philosophy, database management, and simple programming techniques.
  • Good understanding of the requirements for maintaining production systems and the effect of program changes.
  • Understands how to use structured techniques in new program development.
  • Good understanding of development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and/or development/productivity tools and their usage in the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, batch processes, and system performance.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments and basic SQL usage.
  • Ability to create or maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced support environment.
  • Experience supporting or administering Hyland OnBase.
  • Hyland Certified: OnBase Administrator Professional.
  • CompTIA Certified: A+.
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform/Support installation, configuration, administration, implementation, scheduling and/or tuning/modification of applications.
  • Provide support for simple to moderate system/production performance concerns.
  • Collaborate with various internal groups and external vendors to ensure all specifications are met and problems are resolved as they arise.
  • Monitor and report on scheduled batch and online applications for successful/unsuccessful execution.
  • May run necessary system backups.
  • Review and/or create documentation for accuracy, future problems, and company standards.
  • Perform testing responsibilities as needed.
  • Review all abnormal results/issues from previous processing cycles and verify that they have been logged/resolved.
  • Communicate with applications on-call persons to repair applications that ended abnormally.
  • May perform corrective actions whenever possible to fix applications that end abnormally and/or notify appropriate area for resolution.
  • Consult with senior level peers on projects of greater complexity.
  • Participate in work sessions and walkthroughs for quality and production implementations, releases, data conversion projects and/or disaster recovery exercises.
