About The Position

The System Safety & Reliability Engineer helps ensure that product safety and reliability attributes are understood and risks are managed to an acceptable level. The role integrates knowledge across engineering disciplines to create and support complex systems that operate reliably under challenging conditions. Work includes mathematical modeling, probabilistic safety and hazard assessments, and extracting actionable insights to improve products. The engineer analyzes component and system failure mechanisms and their effects. The position supports product development and new product introduction through safety and reliability analyses and documentation, including FHA, FMECA, and System Safety Assessment. It also evaluates design solutions and product operation and maintenance practices, develops models at component, system, asset, and fleet levels, supports part/function classification, and contributes to FRACAS and reliability initiatives in development and in-service phases. The role is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, with hybrid working. Employees are expected to attend the workplace an average of three days per week; relocation assistance is available. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
