System & Network Administrator
About The Position
Safran Trusted 4D, Inc., part of Safran Electronics & Defense, is seeking a well-rounded Systems & Network Administrator to support and maintain its enterprise IT infrastructure at its West Henrietta, New York site. The role focuses on network administration, virtualization, Windows server administration, Azure networking, identity management, and cloud technologies. The administrator will also provide Tier 2 technical support and collaborate with global IT colleagues and the Cybersecurity team on strategic work, including cloud migration and modernization projects. Safran Trusted 4D develops resilient positioning, navigation, and timing technology for defense and commercial applications. The West Henrietta site manufactures synchronization clocks for data centers and GNSS simulators and includes engineering, R&D, sales and marketing, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3–7 years of experience administering enterprise network and server infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco switching technologies, Palo Alto firewalls, Windows Server (2019/2022/2025), Active Directory (Group Policy, DNS, DHCP), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune/Endpoint Manager).
- Experience with enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Experience supporting VMware virtualization environments.
- Experience administering Windows-based enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proactive attitude, strong customer service skills, and desire to continuously learn new technologies.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Linux/Unix server administration experience.
- Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications.
- VMware VCP certification or equivalent experience.
- Cisco, Palo Alto, or other networking certifications.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience participating in infrastructure migration or modernization projects.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPN connectivity, routing, and network troubleshooting.
- Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and enterprise authentication services.
- Administer Microsoft Azure services, including Azure networking, virtual networks, security groups, identity services, and cloud resources.
- Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune/Endpoint Manager, and licensing.
- Support VMware virtual infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, snapshots, and server maintenance.
- Provide Tier 2 end-user support for escalated desktop, laptop, and application issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and enterprise applications.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, security initiatives, disaster recovery planning, and future cloud migration projects.
- Monitor system health, performance, backups, and infrastructure availability.
- Document systems, procedures, and technical configurations in accordance with IT best practices.
- Support conference room technology, printers, security badge systems, and other business-critical infrastructure as needed.
