About The Position

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking qualified candidates for a System Integrator, NPI (Manager, Engineering). This is an onsite role at our St Joseph, MI location. The role focuses on the seamless integration of final manufactured products from concept to production validation, delivering product leadership through balanced product solutions that delight consumers and satisfy the needs of the business and stakeholders. This role will require travel to the Marion Factory in Ohio as needed for builds and trials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering or Technical Design

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for system integration of projects in Production Development Projects using the Whirlpool Product Development System.
  • Accountable for scoping regional projects requests.
  • Accountable to ensure product development activities are completed on time, meeting cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and execution.
  • Accountable for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails (target ranges) and PD budget.
  • Accountable to ensure technical design reviews for projects are completed as per the project plan(s) and according to WPD2.0 to provide a technical assessment of project readiness, especially as an input to WPD2.0 gates and key events.
  • Accountable to drive full system validation through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages.
  • Accountable to lead convergence of optimal system level interactions and interfaces within the project(s) using systems engineering principles.
  • Accountable for the engineering budget of project(s) and optimization of PD budget within the guardrails of the platform and the region.
  • Accountable to provide monthly engineering updates to support for commercial business team (CBT) and regional product development (PD) reviews.
  • Accountable for driving Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process, including ensuring management and release of EBOMs, simulation of virtual prototypes and build of physical prototypes, documentation of total expected variation, documentation of the revision of parts used in builds, designation of Special Characteristics, measurement and documentation of special characteristics on physical prototypes, closure of dFMEA action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, and ensuring product development is done concurrently with manufacturing.
