About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the system integration and engineering of the Space to Ground Segment for a satellite communications (SATCOM) system. As a Systems Integration Systems Engineer, you will coordinate across the program to establish inter‑segment and subsystem requirement and verification baselines. You will develop integration plans that specify the assembly, verification, and validation of subsystems into a fully operational system. You will support system integration activities throughout the program lifecycle, identifying risks and defining mitigation strategies. You will develop and maintain the system level capability roadmap, manage external dependencies, and track critical path tasks. You will partner with the SEIT organization to design and deliver end to end integrated solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or a closely related field – or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
  • Understanding of, and practical experience with, systems‑integration and engineering processes.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience in agile development process, roles, and rhythms (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience performing Systems Engineering and integration activities in the aerospace industry, with a focus on ground segments or satellite communications systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple engineering fields to develop MBSE products, plans and procedures
  • Experience designing, testing or verifying communications Payloads or Payload units
  • Experience or understanding of terminals and system interfaces to terminals
  • Experience or understanding of operational ground system command and control
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to an audience with varied technical backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner, work independently, and leverage best practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
