About The Position

Provides system integration engineering support for large-scale systems and complex network environments. Interfaces with program management, system and software engineers, test engineers, and information assurance teams within an Agile environment. Supports Linux and Windows-based components in high-performance computing systems. Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting including low-level packet capture analysis, log review, root cause analysis, deployment support, COTS software evaluation, configuration management, and coordination of outage windows to minimize operational disruption. Develops and updates system documentation including data flow diagrams, configuration documentation, risk assessments, and analyses of alternatives for system-related concerns.

Requirements

  • Hands-on troubleshooting of IT systems and networks.
  • Linux system administration experience.
  • Virtualization experience using industry standard hypervisors.
  • Experience deploying application software including application servers.
  • Experience supporting multiple infrastructure networks simultaneously.
  • System analysis, risk analysis, and/or vulnerability assessment experience.
  • Experience applying software builds, patches, and configuration updates.
  • Strong diagnostic capabilities including packet capture analysis and log review.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks based on mission needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to support extended hours for mission critical systems when required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field with at least eight (8) years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with at least six (6) years of relevant experience.

  • Provides thorough documentation and clear technical communication.
  • Acts as an independent thinker capable of creative problem solving.
  • Maintains high-quality performance in fast-moving, high-visibility environments.

  • Knowledge of PKI systems using HSMs and NTP synchronization.

  • Experience supporting Linux Oracle database instances.
