About The Position

OASYS, INC., a Leading-Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking a System Engineering Team Lead to support our Air Force customer onsite at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. This role involves leading the system engineering effort for a Department of Defense (DoD) software development project. The ideal candidate will have experience leading systems engineering activities across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, verification, and validation. Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering processes and methodologies such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile, and DevSecOps frameworks is required. Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, or similar requirements management and modeling platforms is essential. A strong background in software architecture patterns, interface design, and system integration for complex defense applications is necessary. The role requires a proven track record leading cross-functional engineering teams on DOD software programs, experience managing technical baselines, configuration control, and change management processes. The ability to coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and drive program execution is crucial. Understanding of Air Force acquisition processes, Software Acquisition Pathway, and relevant Air Force Instructions is important. Familiarity with military standards such as MIL-STD-498 or similar defense software standards is expected. A solid understanding of cybersecurity requirements including CSRMC (formerly RMF), NIST 800-53, and DoD security technical implementation guides is also required. Knowledge of Air Force mission systems, command and control architectures, or relevant operational domains is considered a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cyber, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other STEM discipline; however, years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Nice To Haves

  • INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, or similar systems engineering certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Air Force mission systems, command and control architectures, or relevant operational domains considered a plus.
  • An Active Secret Clearance is highly desired.
