About The Position

The selected candidate will provide System Engineering leadership to an existing team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) and modernization activities for commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and training applications that are vital to the Government enterprise. Conduct process evaluations of the corporate enterprise applications to identify areas for improvement and optimization while ensuring adherence to enterprise process standards for the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Government Product Leads and Government Leadership Teams to define, prioritize and implement process improvement initiatives. Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies within the program and facilitate the adoption of agile and DevOps practices. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process standards, program-level templates and best practice guides. Conduct regular assessments to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization within the application development lifecycle Proactively identify potential risks and issues in the systems and propose mitigation strategies. Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote knowledge sharing and enhance the technical skills of the team members. Engage with Government Leadership, Product Leads and development teams to identify technical issues and provide guidance and coordinate solutions to resolve them effectively. Participate in incident response and problem-solving activities to address critical system issues and minimize downtime. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior system engineers and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to enterprise application development and support.

Requirements

  • System Engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience with Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) and modernization activities.
  • Experience with commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and training applications.
  • Experience conducting process evaluations and identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Knowledge of enterprise process standards for development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, Government Product Leads, and Government Leadership Teams.
