About The Position

The Kenjya-Trusant Group is seeking System Engineers to support a customer in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role involves essential job functions related to business system implementation, risk management, assessment, and research. The engineer will lead integrated Product Teams/Working Groups to mitigate risks in current and future system increments. A key responsibility is performing risk assessments for major system acquisitions, focusing on the integration and deployment of modernized business systems. The role also requires managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure production systems align with defined architecture frameworks like DoDAF and SOA. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to systems engineering documentation, assist in developing system and functional requirements, and coordinate the resolution of action items from various review meetings. Participation in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations is also expected.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Twenty (20) years’ experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
Business System interoperability experience.
DoDAF architecture experience.
Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly.

Nice To Haves

Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Familiarity with Risk Assessments associated with COTS products is beneficial.
Familiarity with Business Systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft, CHI Momentum, SAP NS2 is beneficial.
Familiarity with Cloud Architecture and security is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Business system implementation Risk, Risk management, assessment and research; this includes leading integrated Product Team/Working Group to reduce risks in current and future increments.
Perform risk assessment for the major system acquisition related to the integration and deployment of the modernized business systems.
Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations.
Assist the Acquisition Finance Management (AFM) Program Management Office (PMO) and Integration Lead to develop and execute a Risk Assessment for the Integration and deployment of 20+ business enabling systems.
Identify risks associated with the grouping/phasing of the business systems into different integration and deployment phases.
Buy down the risks associated with this acquisition program.
