About The Position

Chiron Technology Services, Inc. is seeking a System Engineer Level 3 in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. This role involves contributing to the development of various systems engineering documentation, performing technical analysis, and assisting with systems engineering activities according to ISO/IEC 15288 standards. The position requires developing innovative approaches to technical challenges, evaluating suitability for project implementation, and analyzing/proposing engineering standards and processes. The engineer will also supervise and coordinate the work of other contractors and lead systems engineering activities for a project, making independent decisions on engineering issues and methodology. A key aspect of the role is briefing stakeholders on project status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience as SE on large systems of which three (3) years must be in the Cloud environment.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations
  • Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation
  • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project
  • Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians
  • Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project
  • Brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project
