About The Position

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking an experienced System Engineer 4 to support mission-focused programs through the application of systems engineering principles across the full system lifecycle. This role combines systems engineering, project coordination, Agile support, technical documentation, and customer engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can work effectively with government stakeholders, development teams, and senior leadership while ensuring the successful delivery of complex technical projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline and 10+ years of systems engineering experience (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and experience).
  • Experience supporting system lifecycle activities and engineering processes aligned with ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, engineering artifacts, and project deliverables for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working directly with government customers and cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • DOD 8570 Certification
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience facilitating Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning activities, and retrospective meetings.
  • Background supporting software development programs, release management, and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience managing documentation repositories, project reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Familiarity with risk management, configuration management, requirements analysis, and systems engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Apply systems engineering principles throughout the system lifecycle, including development, integration, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, architecture and data flow diagrams, project overviews, reports, and customer presentations.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning and Retrospectives, while supporting project execution and team coordination.
  • Manage and maintain documentation repositories, ensuring information remains accurate, current, and properly archived.
  • Support user helpdesk functions by handling access requests, tracking bug reports, and coordinating feature requests with development teams.
  • Coordinate release activities, end-user testing efforts, and status reporting to stakeholders.
  • Analyze technical alternatives and provide recommendations to support project objectives and engineering decisions.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, risk management, configuration management, and other ISO/IEC 15288 engineering process areas.
  • Develop and deliver engineering work products while ensuring technical quality, integrity, and completeness.
  • Mentor and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical staff as required.
